From God incarnate to compassionate friend, liberator to countercultural icon, baby in a manger to personal savior, Jesus has been represented in numerous ways in the American context. Utilizing stories, histories, films, and art, we will analyze changing American perceptions of Jesus and their role in American history and culture.
